1. no matter how far or wide you go,
    2. i promise to wait you
    1. like a meadow of flowers,
    2. i pray the sun holds me company as i stand here for you
    1. no moonlit sonnets for today,
    2. i’m tired of seeing the sun set when i’m with you
    3. i pray it holds it’s shine forever
    4. i pray it never ceases
    5. a candle wick love that lasts an eternity
    1. i promise to hold the sun on my shoulders so you can always find your way back to me
    1. a lighthouse love
    1. that promises
    2. no matter how dark the dusk
    3. no matter how deep the sea
    4. no matter how difficult it can be to see a way out of everything
    1. you’ll always find me
    1. and we’ll always find our way back to each other
    1. and we’ll always have
    2. one another
    1. leave me to follow the wind.
    1. i’ll walk beside the valley’s breath.
    2. spirit me away, light as paper.
    1. once i was like a new book, blank pages and stories ready to be written,
    2. but these paper weight chapters were too much to carry.
    3. i left them in all the wrong places with all the wrong people.
    4. sometimes it feels like it’s for the best.
    5. sometimes i find myself trying to rewrite the same stories with different people.
    1. a lust for shakespearean tragedy,
    2. and validation only through sacrifice.
    1. sometimes i feel like the murderer hiding the pen.
    1. today, i don’t want to remember what’s written inside
    2. today, i leave my short stories behind,
    3. today, i keep only what’s necessary, even if all that’s left is a single page
    1. then you’ll be free
    2. as light as paper
    3. following the wind
    1. maybe i’ll be free too?
    1. i hope it’ll land me somewhere new
    2. somewhere safelike sanctuary
    3. somewhere for me to write a new story
    4. somewhere where the weight of the chapter keeps me, holds me, but doesn’t break me somewhere.
    1. because i don’t Know,
    2. how many more pages i have left,
    3. and how many more times I can leave a story behind.

    2. love like you tie shoelaces
    1. don’t hold it all together with one knot
    2. then wonder why it comes undone
    3. it’s good to double knot, then triple knot too
    1. if you say ‘you look beautiful’
    2. following it up with another, won’t cause no harm
    3. and a third one for good measure
    4. is all the better
    1. and at the end of it all,
    2. if you still find your laces trailing behind your shoes
    3. then that’s okay too
    1. as long as you know
    2. you put your best foot forward
    3. and you tied your best knots too
    1. i still have this beautiful ruined kingdom that we built together
    2. but empty castles are home to no one
    1. so i take this world we created,
    2. this love, these poetic memories.
    3. and give it back to the world that you both came and left to
    1. i leave this unprotected heart in the hands of others.

    4. how many more until I can recreate our time together?
    5. how great the word price before I can spend another minute with you?
    1. i leave them with the wind
    2. as I leave this heart with others.
    1. i wrote a list of everything lovely about you
    2. before tearing it into a thousand pieces and tossing it into the wind
    3. so every time you feel a cool breeze that makes the warmest day lovely
    4. know, I taught the wind what it felt like to spend time with you
    1. and the wind so loved it, that it shared it with the waters
    2. they shaped themselves to hold every amazing detail about you
    3. they became as boundless as your beauty
    4. i taught them how to behold
    1. and the waters so loved it, that they shared it with the sky
    2. you become its favorite poem
    3. everytime it reads about you, the sky smiles, and a myriad of colors arc across the sky
    4. because you are lovely
    1. and the sky so loved it, that it handed the remaining pieces up for god to read
    2. and god so loved it, he shared your beauty with the rest of the world
    1. that’s why I see your smile in sunrises
    2. your eyes in meteor showers
    3. your presence in a field of flowers
    4. it’s glimpses of you
    1. so if you see your name written in sunsets

    3. i couldn't help but tell the world all about you
    1. i hope to be your moonlight
    1. because the sun doesn’t have the privilege of looking into your eyes
    1. because i wish to spend the night with you as you tell me everything on your mind,
    2. like a window sill into your beautiful imagination
    1. because even when we find my light has dimmed, and the night sky is darkened all around,
    2. you’ll know that I’m still there
    3. forever taking up space in your sky
    4. and you in mine
    1. if god sends for me
    2. and I cross the river into my grandmother’s open arms
    1. my love for you will remain
    2. from dust to dust, till dust tucks in you in at night
    3. till the sun kisses you good morning on your cheek
    4. till the clouds hold you on days less fortunate
    1. the wind will sing your beauty, lovely
    2. and the stars will tell you tales every night
    1. this body won’t have the privilege of taking your hand
    2. but my love will always find ways to see you
    1. don’t be surprised if my garden notices you
    2. if the lilies murmur at your entrance
    3. and the sunflowers brighten as you walk past them

    1. find me atop the tallest mountain
    2. i want to be the first to greet the light every morning
    1. baked treats and a mug of something warm
    2. if the sun felt lovely today,
    3. it’s because our morning talk was about you
    4. i promise the shadows of our conversation will carry your name
    1. if the sun hides itself today,
    2. it’s because your smile held enough light
    3. to warm the earth for a few days.
    1. i’ll bake something fresh everyday
    2. the anticipation of another rising
